Art Epstein, OD

Arthur Epstein, OD is the Director of Dry Eye – Ocular Surface Disease Center and Director of Clinical Research at Phoenix Eye Care. Listed by Optometric Management as among the most influential in optometry, Dr. Epstein is a sought after speaker, having presented more than 1000 invited lectures on a variety of eye care topics in the US and throughout the world. He is also a prolific author with many hundreds of articles, scientific papers and book chapters published.

Ahmed Fahmy, OD

Dr. Fahmy is the Director of Optometric Services at Minnesota Eye Consultants. He received his professional training and the Doctor of Optometry degree in 2001 from the Illinois College of Optometry. He completed residency training in peri-operative care of glaucoma, anterior segment pathology, and refractive surgery with Minnesota Eye Consultants, P.A. in 2004. He completed a Fellowship at the American Academy of Optometry in 2004 and joined Minnesota Eye Consultants, P.A. as a staff optometrist. He earned Diplomate designation in the American Board of Optometry in 2014. Dr. Fahmy is an Adjunct Faculty Assistant Professor of the Illinois College of Optometry, and Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Fahmy is a devoted advocate of an integrated eye care delivery model and serves as a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery’s Integrated Practice Committee (IPC). He is an editorial board peer reviewer for the journal Clinical Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, and the Optometric Council of Refractive Surgery. He has contributed to book chapters, journal articles, and case studies in non-peer reviewed and peer reviewed journals including Optometry Times, Ophthalmology Times Europe, Archives of Ophthalmology, and The Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has lectured at educational conferences including the American Academy of Optometry, Minnesota Optometric Association, The Philips Eye Institute, The Pediatric Optometry Symposium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and International Congress in Lima, Peru.

Michael Cooper, OD

Michael S. Cooper, OD specializes in anterior segment disease treating a variety of conditions including dry eye and lid diseases, allergy, and uveitis. He has produced research, participated on expert ocular surface disease round tables, and lectured domestically on topics such as corneal disease states, uveitis management, Lyme disease, emerging pathogens, sports-related eye injuries in children, and AMD pedigree relationships. Currently, he is actively involved in global clinical studies for novel anti-infective therapeutics, ocular surface diagnostic validation, and AMD genetic research. He currently serves as President of the Intrepid Eye Society.

Christine W. Sindt, OD, FAAO, is an associate professor of clinical ophthalmology and director of the contact lens service at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, Iowa City, IA. Founded Scleral Lens Education Society is nationally recognized expert on specialty contact lenses for children, practice specializes in treatment of anterior segment disease.

Nicolas Beaupre, OD

Dr. Beaupre received his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Michigan. Dr. Beaupre went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry. Graduating in the top five percent of his class, Dr. Beaupre was granted numerous academic scholarships and inducted into the esteemed Beta Sigma Kappa and Gold Key Optometric Honor Socities. His clinical skills have been acknowledged with awards in ocular disease, practice development and administration. Following graduation, Dr. Beaupre completed his residency in Primary Care / Ocular Disease setting at the Veterans Administration Hudson Valley Health Care System in New York. With a passion for teaching, Dr. Beaupre has lectured at several optometric continuing education events, including the American Academy of Optometry. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, Illinois Optometric Association and a Fellow of the Amercian Academy of Optometry.

Jason Miller, OD

Dr. Miller is a 1995 graduate of Ohio Dominican College where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He continued his studies at The Ohio State University where he earned a Doctorate of Optometry in 1999. In 2006, he completed his Masters in Business Administration. Dr. Miller began practicing with Dr. Kuhlmann at EyeCare Professionals of Powell in June, 1999 upon graduation and licensure. Dr. Miller is a faculty member at Ohio State University and has instructed students in the Binocular Vision and Pediatrics Clinic. He has done extensive work in the area of children’s vision. He is currently the Central Ohio Zone governor in the Ohio Optometric Association and the Central Ohio InfantSEE coordinator.

Damon Dierker, OD, FAAO

Damon Dierker, OD, FAAO is the Director of Optometric Services at Eye Surgeons of Indiana and an adjunct faculty member at the Indiana University School of Optometry. He practices consultative optometry with special interests in ocular surface disease and retinal disorders. He has developed a dedicated dry eye clinic within his practice and helps colleagues across the country in this area with “Dry Eye Boot Camp” educational courses. He also is passionate about age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and the need to improve the standard of care to reduce the risk of poor patient outcomes. Additionally, he serves as a member of the executive board for the Indiana Optometric Association.

Dr. Pendrak Bush graduated from Pennsylvania College of Optometry and did her clinical training at Northeastern Eye Institute, The Eye Institute at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and Wilkes-Barre VA Hosptial. She specializes in Primary Care, Comprehensive Eye Evaluations, Dry Eye Testing, Contact Lens Fitting and Pediatric Eye Examinations. Dr. Pendrak Bush received the highest clinical honors in hospital and disease management from Wilkes-Barre VA hospital. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.

Loretta Szczotka-Flynn, OD, PhD

Dr. Loretta Szczotka-Flynn is Professor at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in the Departments of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences as well as Epidemiology & Biostatistics. She is Director of the Contact Lens Service at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Her clinical interests include contact lens complications, extended contact lens wear, silicone hydrogel contact lenses, scleral contact lenses, keratoconus, post-surgical contact lens fitting, pediatric medically necessary contact lenses, corneal imaging including topography and confocal microscopy, and following and fitting patients after corneal transplantation. She has authored or co-authored more than 60 peer reviewed manuscripts, 11 book chapters, 75 scientific meeting abstracts, and has been invited to present over 160 presentations world-wide. She is a highly sought after speaker in the area of contact lenses and has traveled around the world in that regard.

Derek Cunningham, OD

Dr. Cunningham is the director of the Dell Eye Institute for Dry Eye Research at Dell Laser Consultants and is well published in the areas of advanced dry eye treatments. Many of Dr. Cunningham’s dry eye protocols are used by academic institutions around the country. Dr. Cunningham was one of the lead authors for the only peer reviewed published optometric dry eye guidelines in North America. Dr. Cunningham was a co-host and Chair of The Dry Eye Summit. A meeting of the top 50 leading dry eye optometry experts in North America. Dr. Cunningham has a special interest in Sports Vision and Performance, and is the Chairman Emeritus of the American Optometric Association’s Sports Vision Section. He currently consults and provides vision training services to numerous professional and NCAA sports teams. Dr. Cunningham frequently presents his findings at national meetings such as the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Athletic Trainers Association. Dr. Cunningham is the creator of a popular line of ophthalmic instruments including: The Cunningham Ring Curette®, The Cunningham Punctal Probe®, The Cunningham Meibomian Gland Expresser®, Dr. Cunningham routinely publishes and is on the editorial board of numerous medical/optometry publications. Michael Orozco, OD
